fanfest 2009

We went last year, froze to death, but had a good time.  Went this year, didn't think it could possibly be colder then last year, but it was.  Didn't eat dinner like we did last year...went straight to the autograph line.  Got two autographs from guys I've never heard of...one of them actually got traded away to another team already.  Ha.  Lame.  Anyway, the kids had a great time again and are already looking forward to next year's fanfest.

 they even pretended to catch fly balls off the outfield wall.... 

 

They threw pitches in the bullpen, got to try their hand at speed pitching and they got a few Mariner freebies...

I love spending time with my boys, especially when they get to do cool things like this.  Their smiling faces are priceless.

"hi mom"

For some reason, when Dante is nervous, he does this silly thing.  When I drop him off at school, when we're at home and he's done something he thinks is wrong or even just when he's getting really tired, he does it.  He tilts his head down, looks up at me with these incredibly pathetic eyes and nervously says "...hi mom".  It's pretty cute, but I'm not sure where he ever picked something like this up, or why he does it. 

Last week, he had brought a plastic golf club in from the garage when we got home from school.  He found a golf ball ( a real one mind you...) and wanted to hit a golf ball in the living room.  I told him he couldn't play golf in the house.  He asked why.  I told him that the real golf ball was hard and he could break a window or something.  He said he would be gentle.  I said I didn't care, the answer was still no.  He said "Mom.  I be really careful, and if I break something, I'll just say "hi mom"."

Now, how do you not smile at something that cute...but no, he still didn't get to play golf in the house.

D:  Marco, can I play with that car?

M: No, I'm playing with it.

D:  Can I have a turn when you're done playing with it?

M:  Yeah, you can.

D:  Oh, okay, thanks.

M:  You're welcome Dante.

D:  Are you done yet?

M:  No.

D:  Are you now?

M:  No, not yet.

D :  Are you done now??

M:  Dante, STOP asking me if I'm done with it.  I'll tell you when I'm done.

D:  Oh.  Okay Marco.
